Mexico - Chiapas
This coffee comes from smallholder farmers in Los Lagos de Montebello, Chiapas who contribute Catimor, Caturra, and a small amount of Geisha varieties to this lot. The 10 members whose coffee makes up this lot is coordinated by our export/producer partners E-Cafe Chiapas who operate a private school with the profits of their coffee. Early into our relationship we visited their farms, met some of the smallholder producers who contribute to community lots, and toured their mill which is on the grounds of that private school. As much as we love coffee, seeing how much good they do through the school made such an impression. They provide a safe place for children of the region to live and receive high quality education, with a very high rate of students being accepted into universities all over the world.
